What's included.
The Dell PowerEdge R860 is Dell's 2U, 4-socket rack server — the highest-core-count option in the current 2U footprint. Supports 4 x Intel Xeon Scalable (5th Gen / Emerald Rapids) processors and up to 12TB DDR5 RAM across 96 DIMM slots. 16 x 2.5in SFF drive bays, PCIe Gen 5 expansion, dual-port 25GbE OCP networking, redundant 2400W PSUs, and iDRAC 9 Enterprise. The natural answer when a customer has outgrown the 2-socket R760. VeriLicense stocks the R760, R770, and R7725 (2-socket) but has no 4-socket option — database-heavy clients and large virtualisation deployments frequently need this tier.
