It delivers up to 128 cores and 256 threads from two sockets — more cores per pound than comparable Intel Xeon configurations at the same rack unit. Dell's Smart Selection means it ships in a pre-configured, lead-time-friendly build from distribution stock. The R7625 adds a genuine AMD compute option to a Dell catalogue that currently lists only Intel-based R660, R670, R760, and R770. Customers running VMware vSphere, Proxmox, or Red Hat who need high core counts without HPC price tags should consider this alongside the R760.
