Broadcom SAS3816 chipset delivers 12Gb/s SAS and 6Gb/s SATA across up to 32 drives, using 2 connectors each supporting 16 drives. PCIe Gen4 interface at 32Gb/s. No onboard cache eliminates battery backup complexity and reduces BOM cost for non-critical RAID deployments. Front-facing connector for hot-swap drive bays. Supports up to 32 virtual drives in RAID mode. Complements the PERC H755 (405-AAXT) already in the catalogue — H355 is the budget choice, H755 adds a 4GB cache for write-intensive workloads.
